Grow Box

In March 2024 we were invited to take on a community space in Canning Town which has the potential for outdoor space and a portacabin for indoor activities. This is a space with lots of potential and in the spirit of it being a site for growing skills, businesses and relationships the community chose to call it Grow Box. With decking, planters, shelter and an outdoor table the outside space is being tended to by a local resident who has plans to plant, grow, farm and serve produce in a programme called soil, seed, plate. Through extensive engagement and outreach we recruited local people to set up and run activites in the space in a peer to peer support network. As the project develops the intention is to grow skills and capacity for this community to support it's self to thrive.
