New Homes for Small Sites

April 2022 - ongoing

We led on writing an engagement approach for the Council to implement on their New Homes for Small Sites programme. The programme had two scales, one across the whole borough, seeking to reach as many residents and organisations in the borough as possible, and 10 dedicated estate sites for local conversations.

About the project

We led on writing an engagement approach for the Council to implement on their New Homes for Small Sites programme. The programme had two scales, one across the whole borough, seeking to reach as many residents and organisations in the borough as possible, and 10 dedicated estate sites for local conversations. This meant the approach that was needed was both broad and wide reaching for some parts of the engagement and focused for others. The Council wanted to deliver the engagement themselves, so our role was to write a strategy and prepare the tools for them to use for delivery. Alongside this strategic work our in-house team in created graphic tools and assets to make it easy for Camden Council to deliver on the strategy with the best tools, props and materials. We designed boards, flyers, workshop materials and pop-up tools as well as training the Council’s in-house team to adapt and finalise design content themselves. When engagement activities were complete we processed and analysed all the data gathered to provide succinct and actionable findings from resident feedback. Monitoring reach and demographics was an important part of his role so that we could keep the Council updated on any gaps in their reach and offer suggestions on how to address them. We have recently been appointed to continue to support Camden's engagement as they prepare planning applications for 5 of these small sites.
