White City

A series of infill sites on White City Central Estate for Hammersmith & Fulham Council. The proposals involve new homes across a series of spaces on the existing estate and the demolition and re-provision of some community facilities in a new high-quality community hub connected to an adventure playground. Delivered using a hybrid approach with a Commonplace platform for online feedback, online workshops, in-person events where possible, remote exhibitions for self-guided activities, pop-ups, walkabouts, and tagging on to existing events. Sixty-six events were held over an 26 month period. Print material and a project website were used to make sure residents were kept informed of what feedback had been gathered and where their ideas had the most influence. We tailored activities to groups with particular focus on children, young people and families who were interested in the spaces in between buildings being adapted to suit their needs.
